Wigan St Jude's 16-34 Crosfields

St Jude's run in the BARLA National cup came to end on Sunday, has they bravely went down 34-16 to Premier Division Side Crosfields.

An off the ball bad challenge on winger Kian Lawton early in the game would ultimately decide St Jude's fate in this game, as the following fracas would see only the home side harshly punished with a dismissal of one player and a bad injury to another.

The Wigan side can certainly hold the heads up high as they were forced to battle on for the majority of the game with only 11 players, and it was only in the final 10 minutes of the game that the gutsy St Jude's finally ran out of steam and conceded the late scores.

Tries from Connor Ramsdale, Jack Barnes & Lewis Belshaw would see the home side in front for the majority of the second half and despite the early loss of key players, an incredible upset looked to be on the cards.

The two man advantage did however prove too much for the St Jude's battlers and would ultimately see Crosfields home and through to the next round of the national cup.

For the second week in succession it was difficult to pick out any individual from such an Herculean team effort, but the man of match award in the end was deservedly given to Jack Barnes for his superb all round performance in both attack and defence.
