Sunday, 15 October 202313'sLimehurst LionsHome42-0St Jude's under 13's, league CHAMPIONS!!! What started as a team of 5 lads on the eve of the season has grown to a squad of 21 mates playing for each other week in week out. The way this team continues to farm opportunities never ceases to have spectators in awe, they have quite rightly caught the eye of the rugby league community as they sit at the top of the tree, it has been a long road to this point and let us not forget the cup win in which so called bigger clubs were set aside by this bunch and their never say die attitude similar to great Leeds Rhinos side. There was no hangover from Wigan Warriors success the night before as these lads again put Wigan at the top table of rugby league.

After a blistering start by Jude's and attacking with real intent saw Dylan Donnelly spot a gap and power his way through to score to the right of the sticks, Alfie English converted to make the score 6-0.

Jude's pressure continued a matter of minutes later as a typically powerful run from Jayden Crutchley had the Limehurst defence in tatters, from the play the ball Ellis Ramsdale floated a sublime pass out to Wiktor Pieda who danced his way over the line to score. Alfie English converted to make the score 12-0.

You could be forgiven for thinking that you had seen the next try before, only this time Ethan Spence breaking the line, Ellis Ramsdale floating the ball out to Wiktor Pieda to again dance through the defence to score.Alfie English converted to make the score 18-0.

Half-time

Following the break Jude's didn't opt for a bit of pram pushing in the sun they meant business and soon scored through a try from Jamie Gaskell after some fine work done by Harley Bentham to bust the line.Alfie English converted to make the score 24-0.

The absolute willingness to attack and defend was there in abundance today, a pressured kick from Limehurst on the last was expertly picked up by Owen Anderson to race the length of the pitch and score.Alfie English converted to make the score 30-0.

The penultimate try was scored by Michael Sedgewick, Mr Dependable, who was able to collect an offload to scythe through the defence to score. Alfie English converted to make the score 36-0.

The final try of the game exemplified Jude's appetite to pass the ball and not to be frugal with flair would be a good selling point for Viagara as they just keep going. Jayden Crutchley on the end of the ball to power through and subtly step the full back to score. Jack Fullerton added the extras to make the score 42-0.

With two games to spare Jude's under 13's are the league and cup, double champions for 2023. A fair reward for the sheer amount of effort they have put into the season so far.
