Michelle Woodcock from Wigan St Judes is Player of the Month

The WRLA Player of the Month for January 2016 – is Michelle Woodock from Wigan St Judes.  The Award is sponsored by Peak Sports Nutrition.

This is what Coach John Davenport said when he nominated Michelle for the Award: “I am putting forward Michelle Woodcock (pictured above far left) again.

“At the age of 35 its like having a breath of fresh air in the team, she is always at training, sometimes with kids in tow, but always committed.  She is a great role model to the younger players, hence why we made her captain. Michelle is always pushing for attendance in training and games (as you can see on the Facebook page for Lancashire) and she has not been selected yet.

“For me Michelle is what each team needs and is a great advert for the women’s game, she even planned Gym sessions in her own time to keep the girls together, for me she is out and out our player of the month for commitment, drive and enthusiasm, a pleasure to have her at the club.”

As part of the award Michelle will receive a goody bag from sponsor Peak Sports Nutrition.

WRLA would like to thank Matty Bullough (coach of Oulton Raidettes) co-owner of Peak Sports Nutrition for their continuing support of the Player of the Month competition.

Player of the Month – each month the coaches put forward the name of a player from their team who they think deserves the award, and the reasons why.  The WRLA committee then decide the winner by voting for the most deserved candidate.
