St Jude's open age took sweet revenge against Yorkshire side Thornhill Trojans 24-16 at the meadow were just two weeks earlier  Thornhill had inflicted a 42-18 score line .And it was Thornhill who started the scoring after a penalty against St Judes was punished with a try by the posts. Thornhill still,had the upper hand early on and only for top Defence from Brett Taberner, Paul Pendlebury, Barry Rothwell, Gavin Rodden, Barry Gregson and Olumide Oladele Judes could easily have been further behind. On 15mins a Jude's attack involving Rob Collier, Dean Hunt,Scott Robinson  and Gavin Rodden put Joey Brady away to score,Scott Robinson slotted over the two points. Thornhills domination in the early stages was again rewarded when they broke the Jude's line to score wide out and go in 12-6 up at the interval , which on the result of possession was probably a fair score line. St Jude's first half performance was a bit hit and miss but the second half was more like it with Nathan Bevan ,Rob Collier, Barry Rothwell, Gavin Rodden and Dean Hunt working hard to get Jude's going and on 46 mins hardworking forward Brett Taberner crashed over by the posts, Robinsons boot did the rest and the scores were level. Jude's were slowly getting on top but Thornhill were still hard to crack and it wasn't  until the 70th min that Jude's managed to break through when from a quick attack from Jude's 25 put Barry Rothwell away down the wing only to be caught with a blinding try saver but Jude's momentum kept the ball alive and swift hands across the line to Man Of the Match Gavin Rodden were he great fully accepted and scored a well deserved try, Robinson goaled. Full Back Darrion Ball was solid at the back and took his customary 15 hit ups again. With Thornhill never giving up Jude's outside backs had to be on their toes throughout and Nathan Jones,Connor Parkinson Joey Brady and Gareth Thomas were up for it. Jude's final try was probably the one that broke The Yorkshire-men when scrum half Dean Hunt chased his own grubber kick through to touchdown under the posts with a flying dive ,Robinson slotted over the two..Thornhill did have the final say with a try on 78 mins and nearly stole the show but for some outstanding defence by Jude's Barry Rothwell,Darrion Ball,Gavin Rodden and Nathan Bevan to hold the Thornhills full back  up over the line, superb try saver. Great win lads the push is still on for the play offs.
