This was quickly followed by a Gavin Rodden break from half way were the supporting winger Dante Morley Samuels great fully accepted the pass to score the first of his brace of tries ,Gareth Thomas added the two. With only 4 minutes gone and Jude's 10 nil up things looked bad for the visitors, backs Conner Parkinson, Darrion Ball,Dante Morley Samuels,Dean Hunt and Barry Rothwell were all looking good and only for some good defence by the visitors Jude's could have bean further ahead. The next try was a bit scrappy when hard working prop Olumide Oladele hit the line and flicked out a pass which went to floor were hooker Nathan Bevan scooped up to score under the sticks, Gaz Thomas obliged with the boot 18-0.Then a scrum on the Stanningley line was punished when scrum half Rob Fenney hit Strong running second row Brett Taberner with a great ball,Brett did the rest scoring by the posts , Gareth Thomas goaled 24-0. Under 16's - Girls
East Leeds 4-16 Wigan St Judes
In tropical conditions St Judes U16 Girls travelled away to East Leeds for a tough league encounter and it didn't disappoint.
Judes started well and Eleanor Dainty crashed over to give Judes a early lead.
East Leeds ferocious tackling started to take effect and Judes made 4 substitutions early on in key positions due to injury, so they then had girls playing out of position.
But Judes dug in and were reward after a flowing move saw Beka White crash over to make the score 8 nil, both conversions missed. Just before half time Leah Smith scored from a clinical through ball from Rachael Porter to make the half time score 12 vs nil.
The second half was tough as Jude's defence held firm with Jordan Gallagher pulling of 2, one one one try saving tackles that would not have been out of place in super league .
East Leeds eventually breached the Maroon wall to score out wide, 4 vs 12.
Then a piece of brilliance from Jodi Rodger Clayton saw her place a cross field kick in to the corner on the 3 rd tackle for Rachael Porter to gather and score. That was the final score giving Judes a 4-16 victory.
MVP (Most valuable player) went to Jordan Gallagher, with Jodie Rogers Clayton finishing second and Beca White finishing third.
Next week Judes travel to Yorkshire to face Kippax in another difficult league game.
Under 14's - Girls
Oulton Raidettes 20-20 Wigan St Judes
Judes travelled over to Oulton for a tough fixture that did not disappoint.
Judes scored first with Beth Hayes crashing over to make it 4 nil. Judes then had good possession but didn't make it pay. They did eventually get a second try by Samantha Fitzsimmons, conversion missed.
Oulton then deservedly crossed and converted to make the half time score 6 vs 8 to St Judes.
Judes lost there way in the second half but managed to get further in front with the best try of the game from Nadia Yates, converted by Beth Hayes, 6 vs 14.
Then the self-destruct button was hit as Judes shirt grappled and missed tackles all the way to a score of 20 vs 14, for the hosts.
Judes then had to dig deep and the last 7 minutes the camped in the opposition half before Beth Hayes got her 2nd try and converted it to make the final score 20 all.
Judes had a chance to win it near the end but spilled the ball over the line.
MVP (most valuable player) for St Judes was Olivia Wilkes who's all round game was awesome, pushed closely by Megan Bragg who made 5 crunching tackles to deny try scoring opportunities , with Nadia Yates strong running causing the Oulton defence problem after problem.
Good result in only the teams second game, big things to come from this team , well done everyone
Under 9's
Shevington 11-7 Judes
Today Judes travelled the short distance to Shevington with a few less players than in recent weeks.
Judes started in defence and managed to keep out a very strong Shevington side on their 1st attack . Ball turned over and Judes ran it straight back at the Shevi side but just couldn't find the gaps to make the meters .
Throughout the match it was pretty much end to end stuff with some great Rugby being played by both sides . Great hands and strong runs saw Shevington take the lead by 3 before Judes answered back . Judes seemed to be getting it together after the 1st 10 mins with some hard running , fast hands and great back up play, in defence there were some great tackles and try saving tackles from lots of players but today just wasn't Judes day .
Grit and determination saw Judes stop the Shevington side from running away with it and all players there today can be very proud of their efforts against a well drilled Shevington side .

Today's Trophies went to

Under 7's
Today saw St Judes play St Cuthbert's and Golborne in an attempt to get the lads as much game time as possible.
It was quickly realised by the lads that both the teams were not as strong as St Judes and the score line reflected this. It was hard to motivate the boys to full potential due to the ease they were breaking the defence. Having said that there were moments in the games that saw some real individual flair.
Report from Team 1; Tadgh was good all round! Great tackling and running hard, Jack E put in the hard yards and really troubled the defence every time he touched the ball. Ellis always plays a great backing up game and was at the side of every team mate as usual, Cody really stepped up and put in a great tackling display well done !
For Team 2; we saw Luke putting his football skills on display as he showed brilliant footwork to bamboozle would be defenders. Astons honest approach to his rugby sees him always fearlessly defend and attack with speed, today was no exception! Jack W with his usual uncompromising attitude towards the opposition saw him put a couple over the whitewash and a notable try saving cover tackle. Jack M was clinical in attack and defence as usual and today saw him score a great try again this own team, well done. Reuben the powerhouse Charnock was 'skittling' players in attack and defence causing an untold amount of havoc in the middle, his trademark try saving tackles near the corner flag were to be admired. Lewis was his usual eager self dragging the defence from left to right and left again until a gap appeared where he showed his eye for an opportunity and dropped a gear to cut through and score.
Harrison was captain for the day and was told that he needs to lead by example! that's exactly what he did, he had a hand in almost every tackle and more so he displayed real positive contact with his shoulder to take attackers to the floor which we are really pleased about. Most notable moment was seeing him defend against the biggest lad on the pitch, firing out of the line directly at the runner he stopped the attack in its tracks with a massively brave collision. Mention to Fin also who played in team 2 at the end, he showed that guttsy attitude with his never say die mindset, a slightly mistimed tackle saw him go again and managed to grab on to an attackers shirt with one hand and drag him to the floor, great attitude!
Mention to all the lads who put their hand up to play for the opposition or volunteer to be a substitute, again great attitude and teamwork lads!
Trophy winners today were Tadgh & Harrison.
