With only 14 lads available our Jude’s lads where going to have to dig deep for the full game

Jude’s dominated from the start with some great rugby on show in attack and defence
Going into half time at 12-0 it was looking all 1 sided as crosfields didn’t get near our line
Crosfields never gave up though Jude’s lads had started to tire but still got another 2 try’s on the score board leaving it 22-0
Crosfields got 2 late try’s with the game ending
22-12

Massive well done to Brad banks (coaches mom) playing his first game at stand off with him and Kian seddon at scrum half looking like a great pairing

Sunday, 9 October 202212'sOrrell St JamesHome12-6Jude’s welcomed orrell down to the meadow in what was a great game played in good spirits. Both teams were equally matched matching run for run and tackle for tackle.it was a lovely ball through hands to the wing that allowed Ethan to break the dead lock with Conner making the tricky conversion taking us in 6-0 at halftime. Much the same in the 2nd half with orrell keeping up the pressure almost scoring off an interception a great try saving tackle off Jamie held them out how ever orrell managed to get over the line and convert to bring us level 6-6 . Orrell kick to Jude’s was taken by George who passed to prop Harvey who ran through the orrell pack to score a 90 m try that was converted by Conner to end the game 12-6
Sunday, 9 October 202215'sWoolston RoversAway18-12St Judes v Woolston Rovers NWC Cup final
Two evenly matched teams met today after a long hard season having both won 1 each in the head to heads. With silverwear at stake Judes looked fired up from the get go. A fiesty start saw big hits from both sides before St Judes made the break through with a Kian Stanton try converted by Deecan Snape. However silly mistakes allowed Woolston too much possession and they crept into an 8-6 ht lead.
The 2nd half was saw Judes take control and blast back with Jaiden Drachenberg converting his own try to edge back in front before a well worked Connor Roberts try under the sticks again converted by Drachenberg extended the lead to 18-8 and Judes looked in control, a controversial late Woolston try in the corner made for a nervy last 5mins but Judes held firm for a well deserved victory bringing the cup home to complete a successful season for the club.
Try scorers Kian Stanton, Jaiden Drachenberg, Connor Roberts

Sunday, 9 October 20227'sSt PatsHome40-40It was cold and windy down at Keats avenue today and we had 20 eager excited kids ready to play the game they all loved so much.

We split into two teams and had to borrow a player or 2 to St Pats our lads don’t mind.

There was some exceptional big tackles from little Zach today he was going for the big lads with no fear. Bobby, Henry, Joseph, Carter and George doing some great tackles and big runs.

Finley H and Finley P do what they do best and run hard and fast. Josh doing a great job again in his tackling as he always does. Daniel again doing some fantastic runs and great tackles. Christian also doing some fantastic tackles for the team.

Oliver S, Harry, Elliott, Patrick, carter and Theo all do so fantastic runs with the balls and get some great hand offs out to their team mates.

Our trophy winners those week were

Sunday, 9 October 20229's - GoldsWigan St PatricksAwayX XWe made the short trip over to St Pats this morning for our penultimate match of the season. We also welcomed Joey back after a spell out with an injury. What a match it was!

The match was a close encounter with both teams putting big shifts in defensively throughout the game. Jacob was on hand to finish good passing moves for our tries today. We also went close with a few more efforts that were ruled out for infringements.

The St Pats team put together some good moves to get over the line too.

All in all, this was an excellent display of junior rugby, played in the right spirit and both teams should be proud of their efforts today!

Players of the match

Joey for a great match on his return from injury, played a great game with the ball and was strong in his defence.

Jacob for a strong display with the ball, sticking to his position really well and being in the right place at the right time

Leo for another brave performance, tackling anything in sight and not taking a step back

Phoebe for a strong running performance, passing out the ball for good tries and good defensive efforts
Sunday, 9 October 20229's - MaroonsWesthoughton LionsHome8-10

A hard fought contest for the Maroons today against an organised and defensively solid Westhoughton side who we always enjoy good tight games against. For the first two quarters it was a case of you score we score but by the third quarter Westhoughton had taken control of the game but in true Judes spirit the Maroons never gave up on the game bringing it back to make the score line close.

Tries were scored by Jacob x4 Stanley x2 Daniel x1 Alfie P x1.

Massive shoutout to player of the match Lydia Ridyard who stuck her hand up to take some tough drives in against some lads three times her size which took real guts and character.

Great building blocks put in place today for Burtonwood at home next week.
