Rochdale MayfieldAway24-32
Judes travelled to Rochdale to play a very good Mayfield side. Judes were going into this a little blind and a little rusty as the past few weeks training and games have been disrupted. Judes kicked off and at 1st kept Mayfield trapped in their own half but this was short lived , Mayfield run the ball hard and their half backs run the Judes defence in circles. Judes just couldn't get going even after scoring a try and started to loose their heads a bit. It seemed to be 1 way traffic in the 1st half and it wasnt going Judes way. The whistle came for half time and the score wasnt out of reach at 16-6 to Mayfield but Judes were finding it hard . 2nd half started as the 1st ended and Judes were on the back foot yet again for most of the half. Then from a superb kick off Judes regained the ball as Mayfield knocked on . A try followed with a great little grubber kick just over the line and Judes seemed to get a little energy . The same followed at the next kick off , another knock on but this time a chip over the top and pounced on by the Judes attacking line . But with time running out Judes were looking at only their 2nd loss this season, in the end they proved why they have been moved up 2 divisions this season, everyone dug deep , played for each other and despite the scoreline they played to the final whistle . Judes took every point on offer to them and no one can ask for more. Culcheth v Judes Golds

Captain Jack Myers

For the final time Culcheth welcomed us on a cool but dry Sunday morning.

Culcheth got the game under way from the Kick off and after some strong tackles Chiz broke the Culcheth line to go over for Judes first try. 4-0 to Judes With Culcheth attacking Judes showed some strong defense forcing the kick which was brought away from Judes line. Judes passing the ball well but are forced to knock on. Back on the defence Judes keep Culcheth out for another set of six. At the turnover Judes put some good passes together giving Tadgh opportunity to force his way over the line. Some strong tackling from both sides kept the score at 8-0 to Judes at half time.

Judes got the second half under way. Culcheth passing the ball well, good kick and chase caught cleanly by Brad who made great ground and with a quick play of the ball, good passing along the line and Chiz went over again for his second. Hilly stepped up for the conversion and after a bobble on the bar it went over 14-0 Judes. Culcheth weren’t giving up and some good passing and a kick to the corner saw them go over for their first try which they converted 14-6. Judes back on the attack with the ball passed to Aston who backed himself to go over for the try score was now 18-6 to Judes. Judes tackling was as strong as ever today and some great work from Tyler with 3 or 4 tackles on the bounce but Judes were offside and Culcheth got another six. Kicking early to the corner almost caught Judes out but it was punched over the dead ball line by Harrison. Quick restart and Chiz was powering down the field. Quick hands passing to Cody saw him force his way over the try line 22-6 Judes. In the final minutes Judes were defending their line strongly but Culcheth managed to push their way over and covert it finishing the game.
