AskamHome54-10
After a shaky start by st Jude’s at the Meadow on Saturday the boys ran out convincing winners 54-10 against visitors Askam, with 10 different try scorers. It was the visitors who struck first on 20 mins after some excellent scrambling defence to stop Jude’s on several occasions but it was inevitable that the Maroon Machine would finally break through and on 24 mins Sponsors Man of the Match Jack Rimmington sneaked in from close range, Danny Fallon goaled. This was quickly followed with tries from Lewis Melling and Connor Parkinson, Both goaled by the boot of Fallon and Jude’s went in 18-10 at the break. The second half was a different story as Forwards Tom Owen, Josh Hill, NCL Man of the Match Gav Rodden and Mike Stevenson bossed the middles and with Darryl King and Danny Fallon at the helm of all Jude’s attacks Askam had no answers to the pace of Jude’s attacks and further tries by Darryl King, Reece Mathews, Joey Brady Danny Fallon, Josh Hill, Baz Rothwell and Dec Parkinson ,Danny Fallon converting 4 of them completed a good day at the Meadow.

Thatto HeathHome42-6
Judes welcome Thatto to the meadow in a Cup and League double header. Judes were soon on the attack after a great kick off that found the dead ball line. It wasn’t long before we were recording our first points with a basketball style pass over to Reagan Sumner who showed great footwork to break through the gap and score. Following the try though Judes made a few mistakes, but a big defensive effort by Junior pushing the player back and Logan scooping up the kick, denied Thatto taking advantage. We replied with a good try from Connor Hill, after a great ball from Callum to Connor who set off with the fullback still to beat and just ran round him to score. A Thatto knock-on in their set gave us the ball back and we work our way back up field. A great run from Junior but equal defence from Thatto who held him up and deny us this set. They did surrender the ball though coming away from their line and Judes are close with 6 tackles in the bag. A big drive from Harvey sets up Eliot Peposhi who has started scoring these tries from dummy for fun! Thatto try a short kick-off but a great take by Reagan who buys us territory up field. Our next points came from nowhere and was just sheer keeping the ball alive and see what happens! Callum managed to slip the pass away in collision to Junior who put in an unorthodox pass to Reagan who shot off to score from the play he had started. Callum Silcock nailed a brilliant conversion from the touch line on the stroke of half time and put us 24-0 up at the break.

Not the best start to the second half when a good break is halted for a forward pass and Judes also being pulled for 3 to 4 penalties on the bounce, gave Thatto enough tackles to penetrate our line and score a converted try. After a couple of untidy sets, Judes were awarded a penalty for offside with 6 more close to the Thatto line, all we needed though was 2 more plays when Junior Nsemba set up and ran with intent at the line to score directly under the sticks. Thatto tried a short kick off again, but after the ball bouncing all over we thankfully retrieved possession. Thatto were caught offside and a booming kick into touch put us in a great attacking position again. The ball was switched from right to left with good play down the line which created space for Eliot Peposhi to score his second. Another fantastic kick from Callum right off touch put us 36-6 ahead. Thatto tried to milk a penalty, but the new RFL ruck ruling meant the penalty was over turned in Judes favour, so Judes were attacking their opponents line again. Up step Harvey to score one of his signature tries, head down, run with ball and crash over to score. Converted easily by Callum Silcock, who was 100% with the boot today, on both conversions and kicks in play. A massive kick from Callum bounces all over and only thing Thatto could do is kick it dead for a drop out. Judes played the ball quickly to try for more points in the dying minutes, but they were just too eager and the ball went out over the side line. Reagan had the last play of the match, after being switched to fullback took a high bomb well and returned up field with interest, taking the tackle and ending the game with a good win 42-6 to Judes.

Not the prettiest game of rugby league today, we only had 1 sub and a few players switched position, but we did enough to grind out the win. There’s a lot of spirit in this camp and how we are coping with injuries and switches of position is just amazing. Well done boys and great win which sees us go into the Cup Semi-Final!

Today’s man of the match chosen by Thatto, deservedly went to Reagan Sumner, top game today, played at both centre and fullback and still put in a sterling performance. Really made a difference in our attack and bagged himself a brace of tries to.

Leigh Miners u13sHome6-26
The boys took on the talented Leigh Miners today in quarter final of the Lancashire Cup.
Our very first run out in the Lancashire Cup and we were disappointed to have been dealt our first loss of the season.

Our boys took first blood with Keegan Boyd's power proving too much for the Rangers Pack. His hand off was phenomenal and he went from end to end with great speed and strength. Up there for try of the season! Corey Roden sinking the 2 6-0

It all went wrong from here! Our boys just didn't seem to wake up and allowed Miners just too much room to run. Miners are an outstanding outfit who have dominated our age group for the last three years and you can't give them time and space that we did today and expect them not to run away with it.

Miners scored 5 tries to our 1 and we couldn't fault their efforts today.

There were some strong points for our lads today; Keegan Boyd made fantastic yards, running hard and working tirelessly. Aron Fleming kept his wing tidy and stopped anyone running his way. We had a debut game for Tom Anderson (Talk about the hardest start!) And he had a good strong run out and Taylor Kerr stepped in at 13 to allow Luis Houghton to drop in at prop in the absence of our regular prop, Jake Hare, both boys settled well with the adjustments and just got on with the game.

So, we are out the cup but we are still top of the Premier league. It's time to brush ourselves down and get back to business on Friday.

A short report is not what I'm used to but it was definitely one of those days where we were our own worst memory.

Kick by culcheth well taken by Brad, knock on from judes in there own half. Judes losing a little focus giving culcheth a chance.
Culcheth played the ball quick near the judes line and take opportunity and scored with a conversion.

18 - 12

A little talk from the judes coaches quickly put the fire back in there bellys and
Judes play on with chiz charging through the culcheth defence with good hand offs to score a much needed try to give the lads that boost they needed.

24 - 12 conversion by kian

Tyler on the wing getting stuck into what comes towards him followed by a fired up team mates who on every single tackle helped there team mate take them down. Culcheth try to get the ball out quick but couldn't break judes defence with Kian taking a little knock but soon shrugs this off and gets back to business.

,
Judes pass it down the line chiz draws Culcheth in then quickly gets it to Oscar who quickly sees the opportunity to score and takes the ball over the line.

28 - 12

Can see Deacon getting wound up and channeling that aggression by using it on the pitch taking down any opposition with the ball coming towards him.

Culcheth have possession of the ball who try tirelessly to break through what seems like an unbreakable defence being taken down by Oscar and Deacon, kick picked up by Aston, Deacon got the ball who then scored a blinding try and also the kicking conversion taking the score to.

34 - 12

Judes showing great defence continuously but culcheth manage to break through towards our line but ended up being stopped in there tracks by a brilliant tackle by Oscar who got his arms wrapped around there legs immobilizing him.

A Knock on by big Jack, a little lack of concentration close to there own line given culcheth another set of 6. Which they then managed to break through our defence to score but not before an unlucky big hit from chiz which almost certainly taken some wind from the lad.

34 - 18

Judes drive it down the pitch looking for that one last try not losing any focus playing some good rugby, Jack Myers gains possession who then takes it over the line followed by a great conversion taking the final score to.

40 - 18
