Dewsbury Moor snatched a dramatic late winner against St Judes on Saturday with a controversial score in the final mins to steal the points as Judes lost 14-12 in Yorkshire. For long periods both teams defences held firm and the attitude to defend was spot on by Judes with not one clean line break all game. Danny Clayton 36 tackles, Dave Fagan 36 tackles, Oly Oladele 34 tackles and Danny Fallon 27 tackles right up there with a large tackle count and you can add centres Connor Parkinson and Daz Ball to the list with a solid display.Man of the Match Baz Rothwell took the award with once again a solid All round performance at full back. It was 25 mins before the first score when a speculative kick to the corner came off with a very dubious try. Judes hit back when Winger Joey Brady broke away on the left and raced 50 mts to score wideout , the impressive Ben Fisher goaled from the touch line to put Judes 6-4 up. But Right on the stroke of half time Dewsbury levelled the score 6 all with a penalty. The second half was similar to the first with Gary McMahon, Nathan Bevan and Ben Fisher the only players likely to create anything. Forwards Tom Owen, Curtis Berry , Oly Oladele, Nathan Bevan and Danny Fallon were still full of running and on 67 mins Judes had a scrum on the Dewsbury Moor 25 quick thinking Rob Fenney hit the blind side and found winger Ben Jones with a sweet pass for him to score right in the corner , Ben Fisher Cooley slotted over from wide out. Judes we’re on the front foot in the later stages of the second period, but the attacking sets came to nothing those missed opportunities proved costly as the home side scored in the closing mins but this very young side will get stronger with game like these.

Man of the Match….Baz Rothwell..great display.

St Judes 32-26 Oldham St Annes

St Judes produced a stunning second half comeback overturning a 0-22 deficit, to run out eventual 32-26 winners in their NWML Division 2 Clash at Parsons Meadow.
The previously unbeaten Oldham side laid down their intent with less than 15 minutes on the clock, as their strong running capable forwards regularly broke down the usually solid St Judes defence, and scorched to 0-16 lead.
A further St Annes try took the score to 0-22 before St Judes finally began to click as tries just before half time from Scott Robinson, and Daryl King, brought St Judes back into the game at 10-22.
The second half did belong to St Judes, as the class, spirit and determination of this side shone through. Tries from the outstanding Tom Hunter, a second for Scott Robinson, and a stunning full length effort from Prop for the day Baz Gregson,  brought the scores level at 26-26 to set up a nail biting final 10 mins.
The latter phase of the game saw both sides throw everything at each other, and go toe to toe, but it was St Judes who came through in the end with Chris Pimblett’s winning try that broke the Oldham hearts and thus completed an incredible comeback.
Final score.. St Judes 32-16 Oldham St Annes.
Both Tom Hunter and Josh Rogerson were outstanding throughout and duly shared the man of the Match award, with Daryl King, Tom Gallagher, Reece Matthews, & Aaron O’Donnell being other notable performers.
