Playing at home for the first time this season in glorious sun shine Jude’s 1st team put on a top display against a determined Dewsbury Celtic and got the win they deserved
Dewsbury started the better with all the field position but great defence from Jude’s kept them scoreless ,however Jude’s were completing there sets and we’re starting to get on top and Conner Parkinson joined the line and cut through f or a great try 4-0.on 19 mins
Judes now on top scored again a great miss pass by josh Yates found winger Lewis melling who finished in the corner 8-0
A minute from HT Dewsbury scored under the post after some good pressure 8-6
After HT Dewsbury started the better they dominated the ball and field position and scored 2 try’s to take the lead for the first time 8-16 on 67 mins
However Jude’s weren’t finished and on 70 minutes started to play there best rugby a sweeping passing move and Luke Melling ran a great line and scored a great try 12-16
Judes now we’ll on top but time wasn’t on there side but pressure on the Dewsbury line saw Winger Lewis melling score in the corner a a great finish in corner to level the score in last minute, 16-16 with the conversion to come Danny Fallon as cool as you like slotted over from the touch line to win the game 18-16
The Jude’s pack were all outstanding and centre’s James Worthington and Reece Mathews we’re deadly on defence , halfbacksJacob Dugdale and Josh Yates directed play brilliantly
Kieran Rennox picked up the NCL mom
Fullback Conner Parkinson picked up the sponsors mom with a brilliant performance on attack and defence.
