The maroon and gold machine rolls on with a 41-30 win at the Meadow against Crosfields in the NCL Div 2 game. A 16 minute spell in the first half when Darryl King, Gav Rodden, Lewis Melling and Aaron Smith crossed the whitewash, King converted 3 was the foundation for this patchy performance by Jude’s as a stubborn Crosfields never went away with Jude’s indiscipline on show with a 13-5 Penalty Count Against and 2 sin bins which gave the visitors some momentum. St Jude’s pack of Tom Owen, Aaron Smith, Josh Hill, Gav Rodden and Paul Pendlebury were always busy dominating the middles. Darryl King and Rob Fenney were a good link to Connor Parkinson and Joey Brady and Baz Rothwell took both Man of the Match awards,NCL and Sponsors with a solid all round display. Further second half tries from Gav Rodden, who took a beautiful slip pass from Aaron Smith on his own 20 meters line, Dec Parkinson and a 60 metre dash from Paul Pendlebury sealed this good win. In the final minute Rob Fenney slotted over a drop goal and a Darryl King Penalty right on time made it 5 games without loss.
