Wigan St Judes 34-20 Barrow Island

At last St Jude’s First team got the win they deserved in the NCL Div 2 as they overcame a stubborn Barrow Island 34-20 at the Meadow on Saturday and without doubt the star of the show was Joey Brady with his 5 Tries. His first on 10 mins when Gav Rodden found Connor Parkinson who’s break put Brady away to score . But it was Barrow Island who took a 14-6 lead on 27 minutes but Jude’s weren’t lying down on this one and in a 15 minute spell Jude’s hit the visitors with 4 tries, Darryl King first with a neat ball from Jack Rimmington then came a Joey Brady hat trick with Danny Fallon, Gav Rodden and Connor Parkinson playing a big part in all of them. Paul Pendlebury had a hand in Brady’s next when he took the ball on the right edge went on a 40 meter run across the field only to hit Joey Brady on the left wing and Brady did the rest right under the posts. A Tom Owen 40 Meters break on 51 mins gave Brady his 4th try and on 78 mins the lethal left edge struck again with when Rodden and Parkinson put Brady Away for his 5th try under the posts, Danny Fallon slotted over his 5th goal to secure the win. Reece Mathews, Jack Rimmington, Josh Hill and Brett Taberner all had top games. Sad news though Connor Ratcliffe had to go to hospital..Good luck Connor…from all at St Jude.
