It was hard to bare as St Jude’s open age threw away a 16 -8 lead on 51 mins to a large fired up Bradford team who used their size well  especially near Jude’s line as they ran out 24-16 winners. From the onset St Jude’s drive to win the match was there for all to see, Olumide Oladele, Tom Owen, Paul Pendlebury, Nathan Bevan, David Fagan and Luke Barrett so often carried the ball with intent punching holes in the Bradford defence time and time again. Jude’s first try was on 6 mins when after great work from Ben Jones on the left and quick hands found Rob Fenney who put Paul Pendlebury in to score on the right. Bradford hit back with what seamed a very easy score. This was quickly followed by a penalty by Jude’s and Bradford big pack did the rest, 8-4 to the hosts. Dean Hunt was at the heart of the next Jude’s try providing a superb offload to his right were Luke Barrett was positioned to do the rest and score by the posts,Baz Rothwell slotted over the two and Jude’s went into the break with a slender 10-8 lead. On 50 mins Jude’s went further ahead with great work from Ben Jones and David Fagan to set field position near the Bradford line were Michael Gibson blasted his way through the Bradford on line defence to score a blinder of a try , Rothwell goaled and Jude’s had a 16-8 lead . Facing defeat the Yorkshire men rallied and with 20 mins left there was plenty of time for a dramatic comeback and Bradford began to dictate the pace of the game. Cruel injuries forced Jude’s to make changes as the big Bradford pack got stronger and in a 15 min spell they racked up 16 unanswered points to snatch the win and put a small dent in the Jude’s promotion bid.

Man of the Match.. once again outstanding was Nathan Jones who time and time again was to hard to hold.
